The Challenge

In 2004 partners Kaye Taylor and Stephanie Wilson set up SK Chase, an online gift voucher application and fulfilment services to luxury hotels and resorts.

By the time the company had been running four years they had grown to nine staff including Kaye and Stephanie and turned over £550,000.

However by 2008 both partners realised there was lack of clarity in each of their roles as well as others in the business. They weren’t clear about the shape they wanted it to be, nor the look and feel and they had the wrong people in the wrong jobs.

Financially it was clear it wasn’t working and stacking up. It became a very complex business as it kept on growing but no money was being made. Kaye felt very disconnected from the business and that impacted on Stephanie who carried a lot of the extra responsibility and workload.

Shirlaws came in and conducted three projects - functional processes in the business, brand positioning and sales process and performance.

  • Functionality has changed the way we all think and behave and communicate
  • Built a great culture where staff can share their truth with each other
  • Team is much more level-headed and balanced
  • Built a great culture where the enjoyment is sky high!

  • Clients are now clear what we do as we’ve been through a positioning project
  • New clients are now easy to bring on as they understand what we do
  • The company has grown 70 per cent and profitable too as it continues its easy steep rise
  • Getting payback financially now
